Cleveland to Host the 11th Ohio China Day Celebration

Cleveland, OH – Jan 29th, 2018 — Cleveland Contemporary Chinese Culture Association (CCCCA) and Cleveland Contemporary Chinese School (CCCS) in partnership with the City of Cleveland are pleased to announce that the 11th Ohio China Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, February 24th from 11:00am to 5:00pm at The Cleveland Public Auditorium, 500 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland, Ohio.

“We are thrilled to be the main organizer of this year’s China Day celebration,” said Dr. Nianfa Tang, CCCCA’s chairman of the board. “With top professional and amateur artists from Ohio and surrounding States, the day promises lots of spectacular performances like lion dances, traditional Chinese musical instruments, western musical instruments, Chinese folk dances, martial arts and choirs. There will also be cultural demonstrations that showcase traditional Chinese arts and culture, such as Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, shows of different ethnic minority costumes of China. In addition there are plenty of children’s games for kids of all ages. There are also great authentic Chinese food from local Chinese restaurants.

“China Day was originated in Columbus Ohio in 2008 and for the last 10 years had been held in Columbus since 2008,” according to Dr. Liming Wang, CCCCA’s president and principal of CCCS. “Cleveland is a rising city and we believe it’s the right place such a great event to be held right here in downtown Cleveland. We are thankful that the City of Cleveland is our partner in this event.”

The 2018 China Day celebration will be co-organized by twenty-two Chinese schools and organizations from four surrounding states and eight cities. The event is free and open to the public, and is a great opportunity for all to experience the richness of Chinese culture right here in Cleveland.

Founded in 1995, Cleveland Contemporary Chinese Culture Association (CCCCA) is an Ohio 501(c)(3) non-profit organization ran by volunteers from all walks of life, many of them are American Chinese professionals. CCCCA’s mission is to promote excellence in education, Chinese language and culture learning, cultural exchanges and community connections among all ethnic groups. During the last two decades, CCCCA has grown to become the largest and most active Chinese cultural organization in the northeast Ohio.
