The Real reason for so much Hatred toward police.

Below is the script of the video:
There has been a lot of uproar and activism against law enforcement all over the United States, primarily in African American Communities. This outrage and unrestrained emotional out-lash can be seen in almost every major and minor city in the country. The deaths of young black men have been the focal point for most of this anger and sadness. The scenario we have observed is the following, a cop attempts to restrain a black man, there is a struggle, and the cop shoots the black man. The discrepancies in stories from both sides have led to a lot of presumptuous violence and multiple cases of law enforcement's vindication. Being a War time military veteran, I have a lot of respect for the hard work of police officers and the sacrifices their families endure. I also detest violence committed against anyone in our modern supposedly civilized society.
That almost led me to fall for the narrative that the police are being treated unfairly, and these black men are uncooperative simply because they are angry criminals manipulated by anti police organizations. As I often do in my now middle aged life, I went back and consulted with the younger me, the kid who was petrified of the police and horrified by the potential of spending years in a cage provided by my own tax dollars. Lets take a trip down memory lane and see how these law enforcement “Heroes” have spent the last few decades I have been alive. More specifically the “War on Drugs”.
In my opinion, it is the equivalent of throwing homeless people into prisons, in order to fight the “War on Poverty”, or the State taking children from low income families to fight the “War on Hunger”. It has never made sense to me and honestly has destroyed my opinion of law enforcement for as long as I can remember. I would rate dealing with law enforcement high on my list of least favorite things to do. I was no Angel in my youth, as a hippie skateboarding kind of kid, but managed to stay out of trouble, despite My friends and I constantly being harassed by police homing in on our skateboards as a just cause for suspicion.
Most of the friends from my youth have eventually spent time in Prison for Drugs or crimes related to drug addiction though. The good ole days for law enforcement, when even getting caught with rolling papers, bought at any gas station, could land you a 30-90 day paraphernalia jail sentence. The police were waging their war full steam, completely devoid of any notion of its illegitimacy. Any conversation in public about legalization or even hemp would get you laughed at, scrutinized or even just called a liar or conspiracy theorist. The drug laws permitted and encouraged police to seize property of people busted for drugs. My hometown had a couple fancy sports cars all painted up in “DARE” propaganda and of course the bold reminder “seized by drug confiscation”. I wonder if that previous owners children ever felt any bitterness towards police, passing Dad's old car, on the way to visiting him in prison?
Some people may say “If they didn't break the law, they wouldn't have been in trouble”, or “The cops just did their job”. We are all aware of the couple million prisoners in 20th century Germany who were subject to people upholding the Law also, and that defense was extremely unsuccessful at the Nuremberg trials. It was a regular sight to see a bunch of sheriff and deputies, or Local Law enforcement high fiving and proudly smiling for pictures with a couple pounds of confiscated evil marijuana. So do you find it any mystery that those young children losing their parents, their cars, their homes grew up to dislike that entity that treated their loved ones the same and in many cases, worse than rapists or murderers?
Most my perspective was from predominantly white middle and lower middle class families. I can't even imagine the black communities, let's not forget, there were no cell phone cameras until recently. So whatever the police officer said was the gospel. Let's not try to fool ourselves, it was typically a smug police officer's word against an already demonized “drug addict” or “drug dealer”, defended by what my friend used to call his “public pretender”. The police have spent decades waging their ruthless drug war on the populous, and for you young people, today is a marijuana smokers legal paradise, compared to even a short decade ago.
“Decriminalization” has been a slow uphill battle with just a few minor victories for millions of us evil drug users. Cops have been mopping up soft target drug offenders since the sixties. Even compliantly sitting outside dealer houses and collecting an endless stream of buyers has been some of the many spineless tactics of law enforcement, despite insanely large budgets and countless resources. Speaking of budgets and soft targets, only in the recent years has anyone made any attempt to open up a dialogue on the obviously futile war on drug using civilians. I don't think there is any coincidence in the fact that the heroin epidemic is due to infiltration by Mexican drug cartels.
The droves of countless soft target take downs to aggrandize police officers, are now ruthless cartel members that have no problem killing police officers and their whole families. Now that the “War” is literally a potential fight to the death, we regularly see sniveling law enforcement officials admitting their “War” is a losing battle. Yes, beating the shit out of hippies and poor black people was never an issue for all the big tough pigs, but now that its a real fight against people who are just as sickening, violent, and relentless as them, they're considering supporting legislation to spend money on rehabilitation programs instead. Even more surprising when they have a surplus of military grade equipment. You started the war, you loved the war and enjoyed it for half a century. Rejoicing and commending each other for putting what has been roughly 80% of the prison population into cages for fifty years now. You have more resources than ever, and now you want to tuck your tail between your legs and wave the white flag because a couple cartel thugs risk ruining your families lives now?
You reveled in the demise of so many devastated families and destroyed lives, and now you wanna back down? Anytime, God Forbid, some young black man shoots a police officer, remember to reminisce about the glory days of gleefully chaining up his parents and grandparents for smoking a plant or ingesting a substance that the wealthy Political Elite decided was a crime that knew no limit of persecution.
Speaking of Rich Political Elite, how often do we hear Barrack Obama whining and complaining about the amount of black men in the prison system? He started out in Law as an attorney, and is a black man. Either he is completely clueless, or he could care less about the plight of poor African Americans, and simply uses these statistics to escalate racial tensions and anti police aggression. A couple years ago, I saw a reporter ask him about his opinion on states like Colorado’s marijuana legalization. He told the reporter that federal marijuana laws conflicting with state laws was at the least of his priorities. At first I mistook this as a positive, considering he must not be concerned about marijuana, which he has smoked himself, before becoming president. I realize now it couldn't be any further from a positive thing.
Drug Laws have been the fundamental force driving the prison population explosion in the united states, and especially in the African American population. How can he stand in front of the nation and claim that he is deeply disturbed when he is one of the most influential people in the World? If anyone could persuade the country and its lawmakers to take a serious look at the ridiculousness and devastating draconian laws fueling the war on drug users, it is him.
The “one out of 3 black men will spend time behind bars”, because President Barrack Obama has failed the people of the United States, ignored the casualties of this war, and turned his back on one of the African American communities biggest problems. Every year the war on drugs, the sickening corruption and absurd hypocrisies of agencies like the DEA, and the Human Rights Violations that do not belong in our constitutional republic, just keeps grinding on. If your not going to stop the stupid war, then quit being pussies and fight the real enemy, and above all, stop acting shocked and surprised that such an overwhelming amount of the American population has no problem professing...”FUCK THE POLICE!”
